It's because iv'e signed up the forums and added battlefront3.net as my website. He must have clicked the link.

By the way, the server does have some serious lag. I'm not disappointed in that or anything. I understand that Minecraft is still in its beta stage and it still has many bugs and performance issues. This was really my first server experience so I don't really know how well/bad it should perform. I apologize if that statement I made was offending.
Also, there are too many plugins and restrictions. Just not my type. :(

You send a data packet with your internet, a remote computer (the server) receives it, analyzes it, and sends it everyone else. This data can be your location, ore you've dug up, or whatever else other people should see you doing. If there is lag it is probably because of the server speed or your internet speed.

That's why PC gamers always cry when there isn't dedicated server support for online games. Dedicated servers run incredibly quickly and way faster than an average person could setup. This way the lag is always the users fault, not the servers.

In this case it is probably the server and certainly not Minecraft. You can make online play more efficient with better coding, but code can only do so much.

It does affect online performance and Notch is trying to decrease the memory usage. (this stuff gets sent to your PC).

If memory is the case than Notch isn't as good as a developer as I thought. He should have planned for online and done better memory usage from the beginning.

Anyway, back on topic (is there one anymore?).
