Spark Unlimited update

Post by spartan64 »

If that e-mail wasn't good enough, here is proof that comic con 2011 is where the unannounced project will be revealed.

I still believe that Spark Unlimited is making SWBF3, but I didn't think comic-con was over 100 days away. I mean isn't comic-con before E3 because E3 is like a little over 60 days away if I'm correct.

I always remembered E3 being before Comic-Con. But keep in mind there are several different events. Toronto Comic-Con was about a week ago.

I'm pretty sure CC International is on July 21st.

You could always check here: http://www.comic-con.org/

I have already sent an email, asking them why they put that timer there.

Ok this is very weird. I've sent an email to Spark and see what their response is.

My email:
Dear Spark Unlimited,

I'am a great fan of the games your studio made. Thats why I've been very curious about your next unannounced project. By complete surprise I discovered a new timer on the frontpage of www.sparkunlimited.com, which counts down to the upcoming Comic-Con. Could you confirm that this is the place where you will reveal the unannounced project? Or is there another reason the timer has been placed?

Thanks!

Yours faithfully,
Rob from The Netherlands
Their response:
Hi Rob,

I always enjoying hearing from ardent fans. Comic-Con is always been a strong show for our staff to go to. We like to share our interests with our gaming fans and this is one small way to find common ground. As for an announcement, there had been no announcement that there will be announcement. Therefore, unfortunately, all I can do is reply with a generic response:

We are the solely the developer of games. The publisher is the owner of said properties. All announcements, information and/or materials must come from or coordinated through the publisher.

At this time, we are prohibited from talking about who we are working with or working on either through affirmation or processes of elimination. So, I can neither confirm nor deny what we are working on or whom we are working for. If you want word on Battlefront, then it must come from LucasArts.

Thanks for inquiring. Sorry we can't divulge nor hint at what is going on here.

Regards,
John
Notice that I didnt say anything about Battlefront 3, nor LucasArts.

Except for the first few lines. Nevertheless I think its pretty weird to answer with a Battlefront/Lucasarts-answer if I didnt say anything about it. Yeah, its the same message all over again, but its not like its an automatic email. What if I would ask John to go and dance with me? Would he say that they are solely the developer and I should ask LA? :?:

Since Spark have been receiving emails very similar to yours throughout the past months (from members of this community) he probably assumes you're actually referring to Battlefront 3.

One thing I don't understand is if you ask them if they are working on something else they will tell you no but if you mention Battlefront 3 they always have to give "a generic response".

They're probably just tired of typing it out each time, so they've got a list of "If mail asks X, paste Y"
