(Assuming they're developing a SW game)
Now since the rumor that Spark is developing Battlefront 3 is circulating around the net,we must take this into account that the engine they are using is (Highly Likely) the Unreal engine. If you've never heard about it,Unreal is a fast paced shooter much like Quake-and vehicles never really turned out that well with either of these engines.
Now JK2 and JK3 both used a form of the Quake Engine (very similar to the Unreal in terms of function) and the job list hasn't given any hint of vehicles, but it has for characters, swords and creatures.
My point is that if their using the Unreal engine, will they be able to create vehicles like the previous BFs?And if their using an engine just like the Quake ones, will this mystery game lean more on JK rather than BF?

It says it's a 3rd person shooter, not a 3rd person sword fighting game. Therefore it can't be Jedi Knights.

The Jedi Knight series did have the light saber battles as the main thing (obv) but it had plenty of blasters and hand weapons, and had always been classified as a shooter

Yes. JK games are classified as shooters
Ok, but I wouldn't think it's a high profile francise.

But Star Wars is. The Jedi Knights series (and any other SW game) would be included in that 'high-profile' description.

I think im getting confused with 'series' and 'franchise'.Kelevra wrote:But Star Wars is. The Jedi Knights series (and any other SW game) would be included in that 'high-profile' description.

But I still think that BF3 is the most likely game Spark is making (It's the only known possible game they are making).

What does the Unreal engine have to do with anything? Its the worlds most used engine. Games like batman arkham asylum, mass effect, splinter cell conviction, Gears of War, bulletstorm, republic commando, and many others use it. And spark only uses Unreal.

I'm not too keen on how most game engines work, but I think the issue he brought up is that few of those games you mentioned, and (as far as I know) the majority of these don't really feature drivable vehicles - at least not in an exceptional manner (except Red Orchestra), while vehicles are a pretty prominent part of the Battlefront games.
Looking through the project page again, I didn't notice anything that really mentions vehicles.

Section 8 is very similar to Battlefront, it runs on a heavily modified Unreal engine 3.
Always with the "If Spark is making BF3":Kelevra wrote:I'm not too keen on how most game engines work, but I think the issue he brought up is that few of those games you mentioned, and (as far as I know) the majority of these don't really feature drivable vehicles - at least not in an exceptional manner (except Red Orchestra), while vehicles are a pretty prominent part of the Battlefront games.

To find out that there are vehicles in the game, they needed to add 'Vehicle artist' in the job list, but since they have enough of these, then there is no need to add 'vehicle artists'.

I don't recall any "ifs".
From what I have read, I believe they are working on a Star Wars title. Whether it's Battlefront or not, I don't know any more than you do, since every term they've used can be applied to almost any Star Wars action/adventure game.

I believe its a Star Wars title too but I really don't think its Jedi Knight 4.Kelevra wrote:I don't recall any "ifs".

I also noticed that Battlefield 3 is only on Xbox360, PS3 and PC. Battlefield have almost the same game mechanics as Battlefront. Since Spark Unlimited is developing a game on the Xbox360, PS3 and PC, a Battlefront game would be a possibility. Some Jedi game would have light sabers and games like these would be very ideal for the Nintendo Wii. Where you can swing your controller to move your light saber and stuff. I haven't played Jedi Knight before but a game like this would be made for the Wii. Therefore Spark isn't making Jedi Knight 4 or some Jedi game.

That's an odd logic.
The Assassin's Creed series, another melee-heavy game, was not developed for the Wii. Neither was Castlevania LoS, Dante's Inferno, Bayonetta, etc. Therefore, by that logic, Since similar games exist that aren't on the Wii, it is entirely possible that a melee-focused Star Wars game can exist, and not be released on Wii. Not to mentioned the fact that both the PS3 and XBox have their own motion controls now. (Remember that Kinect lightsaber game at E3?)
You really can't use unrelated games (even if they are similar gameplay-wise) to predict what an entirely different franchise/developer/publisher will do.

I know. My logic isn't that logical for some people. But lets see if this is logical enough for you.
LucasArts WILL be making Star Wars Battlefront III, I repeat, LucasArts WILL be making Star Wars Battlefront III. I bet you all my money that L.A reads these forums and other fan sites and know that there is a "high critical audience" that can't wait to get their hands on this game. If I was the president of L.A, I would definitely make this game, highest priority. After the canceled contract with Free Radical, LucasArts where looking for a new/better developer. They know how successful the battlefront games where and will make BF3 the best game as possible. Common man, be more optimistic, get your spirits up and don't worry, we will get that game sooner or later.
Do you all want battlefront 3!
Yes....
I can't hear you...
YEAAAAASSSSSSS!!!!!
That's more like it.
