Even though I'm not encouraging LA to use such a marketing strategy, its something that they would be prone to take advantage of. Because in an era where an increasing amount of games sold are military/ alpha man FPS shooters, LA will struggle to find the entire audience B3 deserves. So what I'm saying is that LA might resort to a marketing campaign where they coy Battlefield gamers into thinking Battlefront 3 is that ultimate sci-fi shooter with Battlefront/ COD-esque imagery perhaps. I personally think that if you have to resort to underhanded tactics to get your product out, it must not be a very good product. That's (hopefully) not what Battlefront 3 will be.

The fact that it's called STAR WARS guarantees tons of sales regardless of the quality (look at the entire prequel trilogy). Except Battlefront is actually really GOOD. People know that, and have been waiting for a new installment for as long as we have. So, While Lucasarts will definitely compete with other games, they shouldn't have to step on the toes of other companies, or mislead customers to get their product out. They've never done such a thing before.
Now, using shiny marketing tactics to attract the large Call of Duty, Halo, Battlefield, etc-playing masses, that's fine. But by no means should they pretend to be a different product altogether.
Maybe that's what you meant the whole time, and I'm wrong. But my first interpretation of what you said was walking into a store and seeing the black/white/orange-style cover image soldier of Battlefield 3 replaced with a stormtrooper, and BATTLEFRONT 3 written in the Battlefield font. That'd not only be incredibly lame, but flat out deception. (But you'd still have to be pretty dim upstairs to not immediately see the difference between a modern soldier's equipment, and a stormtrooper.)
I read some articles and it seems that ActiVision is working with Bungie on a COD MMO? Or something at least. So I wouldn't think ActiVision will be publishing the unannounced project or working with spark. That leads to one possible answer - LucasArts is the publisher. According to what you wrote. Given what Activision has done with Call of Duty, Guitar Hero, etc; I wouldn't want Battlefront to follow the same path. I'd rather wait a long time for one really awesome game, than get an average one every year.
