Rebirth was terrible the first time I watched it but the by the time I watched it three times I started to like it. I'll never be okay with In-A-Gadda-Leela though.
I forgot about this post which makes feel dumb considering I did this: http://futuramaforums.net/blog/2/entry- ... w-part-12/ and this: http://futuramaforums.net/blog/2/entry- ... w-part-22/

There are even more episodes. Shame I can't get Sky.
Unless I did it illegally which I wont.

The second half starts this June on Comedy Central aka US only.
I have to wait to view them on Blu-Ray unfortunately but I also get to view it in HD
I can't wait for the 4Dimensional Space Whale in the second half

Or Canada. I believe it is a USA affair as to my knowledge they are the only ones with Comedy Central. They have no problem selling us the DVDs and Blu-Rays though.Tretarn wrote:To the best of my knoledge, the new season has not even been shown in the UK

Jedi Master

Sorry for being a total n00b but, what exactly is Futurama?
From what I understand it's an animated comedy?

It's an animated comedy by executive producer by Matt Groening, creator of The Simpsons, and David X. Cohen, and follows a pizza delivery boy from the 20th century as he winds up in the future to simply continue to be a delivery boy.ploplyguy wrote:Sorry for being a total n00b but, what exactly is Futurama?
It's difficult to explain too much without having seen the show yourself. It never took off to well because of atrocious scheduling times and the lack of much slapstick.

Its tied for first place with south park as my favorite cartoon. Simply put: its absolutely brilliant!ploplyguy wrote:Sorry for being a total n00b but, what exactly is Futurama?

We have comedy central but it doesnt own the rights to broadcast futurama in the UK. Another channel, sky 1, does.Or Canada. I believe it is a USA affair as to my knowledge they are the only ones with Comedy Central. They have no problem selling us the DVDs and Blu-Rays though.
But they have no plans to broadcast the new series. Which is utterly illogical because they repeat the old episodes all the time! Which means it must still attract a sizable audience (sky 1 has alot of high profile tv shows: House, fringe, lie to me, the simpsons etc, it even had Lost and prison break and pinched the stargate franchise from syfi)
So they have a sizable audience watching futurama, who then say "hey, why isnt sky 1 showing the new series?" then they head straight to the internet and steam it for free, meaning sky 1 misses out on all that potential advertising revenue.
The new series is exclusively to Comedy Central however. We have/had several channel that have Futurama, one still shows two episodes a night, but they cannot show the new series. I'd bet that's why Sky doesn't show the new series. If a network has new, of course they'd show it.Tretarn wrote:So they have a sizable audience watching futurama, who then say "hey, why isnt sky 1 showing the new series?" then they head straight to the internet and steam it for free, meaning sky 1 misses out on all that potential advertising revenue.
That's odd about CC UK not having the new series. I guess CC US really are keeping a tight grip on having the rights for the show.

Huzzah! Thanks LaMarche!
I didn't know he did Clamps

And by everybody I mean UK viewers...
The sixth season is finally scheduled for broadcast there!
Sky1HD(or normal Sky1 if you don't have HD) will show a double bill this Friday 22nd at 8pm starting with 'Rebirth'. They will then show the remaining episodes from the 26 in this season weekly at 8(that's instead of splitting it into 2 seasons!)
So get your cup of tea and crumpets ready UK viewers, Futurama's back!

Also I changed the title to have proper spelling. I can't believe no one called me out on that one
