doesnt leave much room for a BF3 this year.

EA are publishing the Old Republic, meaning that Lucasarts wont take this into consideration when planning a release date for BF3, as that's all the profits they'll be getting.RP89 wrote:Old Republic in september: http://www.mcvuk.com/news/42719/Old-Rep ... -September

But they may make lower profits if people think " hey, two new SW games, i only have the money for one... TOR will definitely have more gametime than the rumored BFIII so they'll probably only pick up TOR.
If I had to choose, I'd take BFIII for sure. ;)
So we have two release windows: from now on until summer or in winter (most likely), if TOR is dated for autm.

Still, BF3 is multi-platform, and doesn't just appeal to the hardcore gaming community (shooters are generally well received from both hardcore and casual gamers). The Old Republic is something I can only see hardcore gamers putting alot of time into, it's not a very hard choice for alot of gamers to pick.Inquisitor wrote:But they may make lower profits if people think " hey, two new SW games, i only have the money for one... Thing is also, releasing a Star Wars game in September won't effect the profits/financial outcome of a Star Wars game being released in November. In fact a Star Wars game being released in November would make a much larger profit, seeing its nearing the holiday season. Look at last year, 3 high profile FPS games were released in September, October and November, all being competitors they each sold fairly decently (except Medal of Honour, which was the October title), you can see the pattern.
So in the midst of ToR and B3 being released during the latter half of this year (if B3 does come out) then where does this put the Star Wars Kinect game that Microsoft said would arrive in Christmas?
Looks to me that LA is going to push the release date of either ToR or B3 to next year, so SW Kinect can succeed in some sort of competitive capacity.

If only this person's tale was true.
