E3

Post by Scott »

Maybe it's unnecessary for me to start another topic in General Chit Chat but at least Ironman enjoys them. To the topic. E3 is rapidly approaching and my adrenaline is getting pumped up as I love watching and drooling over the new tech and software that is coming out in the following years. Anyway what do you expect and want from E3? For me it is as follows:

Sony:

Expected:
More footage of upcoming games (Last Guardian, Mod Nation Racers, etc)
More details about the PlayStation Motion Controller(PSMC), maybe an official name>?
More exclusives on their way
More mildly interesting facts about PlayStation sales :ugeek:

Wanted:
New Jak game for the PS3 :D  :D
Actual games for the PSMC and some more tech demos would be neat :geek:
A tease of Killzone 3, and maybe if were nice Uncharted 3?
RESISTANCE 3 :)
Infamous 2
More new IP's (original games) as we can't just have sequels :D

Microsoft:

Expected:
More Natal
More Halo Reach
More Gears
More shooters :(

Wanted:
Some new, original, non-shooter games (I WANT SOME GOOD ACTION/ADV. GAMES!) :|
If I get the thing above I'm happy :)

Nintendo

Expected:
More Mario Galaxy 2
More about the Zelda
More about Other M
More Vitality Sensor (Unfortunately)

Wanted:
SCRAP THE VITALITY SENSOR AND USELESS PERIPHERALS!!!
New IP's would be sweet from 1st party but I doubt it
Promotion of 3rd party, if not 3rd party developers will leave to Sony and Microsoft's motion controller offerings since no one is buying the 3rd party games on the Wii

E3 would be the best ever if:

The Legend of Zelda was announced
Super Mario Galaxy 2 came out
Battlefront 3 announced

That would just make my day

Unfortunately I have dial-up so I can't watch the video, although I'm sure it hypocritical. I good saying to go by is (**********WARNING SWEARING AHEAD************************)

opinions are like assholes, they stink and yet everyone has one.

I do agree with you Scott about opinions
Funny, but seriously, what do you think about Super Mario Galaxy 2?

Well to be honest. First I thought it was just a series that has not brought anything fresh for so long and then when they stumble on something interesting (Galaxy) they just drag it on and on. But after seeing some game play, I'm pleasantly surprised. It looks like a cool game with familiar, yet fun, platforming. It's really just Mario, Ratchet, and LittleBigPlanet still doing platforming (and maybe Jak>? Although I'm sure your sick of hearing about it) which is unfortunate. I think it's a sweet genre and I wish the industry would keep it alive.

I honestly think that, after playing the first one, think that it could be really good. Hopefully it will live up to expectations...they can be the downfall of any game.

I played on gamecube at the dentist office while waiting for my appointment. It was cool.

Here's a stupid question, but what is Ratchet. I've heard you talk about it now, but what kind of game is it?

Ratchet and Clank? It's a game been out since the PS2. Going Commando, Up Your Arsenal, Deadlocked, Size Matters, Tools of Destruction, A Crack in Time? It's platformer/adventurer/action game game with emphasis on crazy weapons. If you've seen the recent Sony commercials where the hidden man says he will but the weapons from Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time, well then you've seen it. It's a really neat game and if you like games like Mario then you'd like it.

Ya, Naughty Dog is a great developer. Made Uncharted too. Also Jak and Daxter :D
Insomniac makes Ratchet and Resistance. Sony has great developers. Sucker Punch, Zipper, Media Molecule, and more. I liked Crash Racing, Crash Bash, and the adventure games were slick too.
