I figure it may be a Republic Commando reboot. The end of Republic Commando had the invasion begin on Kashyyyk so that might be the "first assault".

I agree! I think this is probably a Republic Commando like game. There may be some third person action like in a vehicle but other than that probably not.

Why do you think it will be like Republic Commando? What we know so far is that It's a shooter, and it has first and third person. My buddy had an interesting theory about this new game, and it's that it's a test to see what the market is for a third person online-based battlefront type game. Once they get the "results" from how well it'll do, they'll decide whether or not to release Battlefront III.
The problem here is that why limit the release of this to only Xbox? Why not Ps3 and PC too? Weird. But LucasArts and Xbox have always had a bit more of a relationship than with any other platform (remember the BF2 DLC?)

I don't recall anybody ever confirming that it was an Xbox exclusive.
