Jedi Initiate

I was thinking, given the supossed training regiments of the Imperial Military, would the Rebel Alliance have had any realistic chance of winning the Galactic Civil War? Hollywood magic aside. Stormtroopers were always represented as the most elite ground infantry in the Galaxy. Drilled and disciplined to perfection. Deadly accuracy and the best equipment available, but put a freaking main character in their sites and it's like they have beer goggles on, and they fall like flies. I know Luke was a Jedi and all, but even Jedi fell to freakin BATTLE DROIDS on Geonosis. Could one Jedi farm boy INEXPERIENCED in any form of battle, a smuggler, who granted did go to the Imperial Academy to be a TIE fighter pilot, and a Wookie really have taken on the countless divisions of Stormies on the Death Star?
Yes they really would have won, because Luke is a Jedi.
I always saw the Force as a sort of energy pool. The Light side has it's own reserves, and so does the Dark side. The more Jedi you have drawing from the light side, the less powerful their force is. That is why The Sith lost the Sith War, too many Sith meant not enough power to draw from. But when the Rule of two came to existence, that meant only two Sith needed to draw from the dark side, making them much more powerful. That's why Anikin and Palpatine were able to do what they did.
But this also works for the light side as well, so when Luke was the only Jedi, he had "Unlimited Power" so to speak. Combine that with his "Mediclorine count"(Can't belive I just said that.
) he became a far more powerful being that Vader or Sidious.
Also it's possible he was able to use Battle Meditation to boost the Rebels and let them win.

So there's my theory at least.

Well the part about battle meditation made sense but did you make up the fact that the force is an energy pool? Don't get me wrong it makes sense but i read the entire page about battle meditation and I don't see anything about a pool of force.

The page was just for those who didn't know about Battle Meditation.
The pool thing is just my personal theory about how the force works.

Well according to the "Force Pool" theory Luke would not have had unlimited power because Yoda and Obi-Wan were still around. Atleast for a time. Yoda and Obi-Wan were still alive during the infiltration of Death Star. Yoda was still alive up until his death in Return. AND gods know how many other Jedi were out there hiding from the Empire. Well known fact not all the Jedi were dead.
True, but they weren't actively using the Force, otherwise we would've seen them by now.
As for Yoda and Obi-Wan, same still applies. Luke was the only one actively using the force so he has more power.

What about when the Jedi Order was still active and there were hundreds, if not thousands, of Jedi actively using the Force?
That's why the Sith were able to overpower them.
Having so many Jedi was a double edge sword. Yeah there were a lot, but when you came down to it, the Sith's force was way stronger. This is due to the fact that they had more access to their side, while the Jedi had to use only their share, due to being in such demand.
A lot of people underestimate the power of the force. The force, if used correctly, can cause "miracles" of some sort.
Such as letting a undermanned, self taught rebellion win a war they never were supposed to.

Eh. Plausible. What about during the Jedi-Sith Wars? When there were hundreds of both Sith and Jedi? Was it pretty much just lightsaber battles?
Pretty much, until the Sith got greedy and back stabbed each other, that was their downfall. Then came the Rule of Two, then Palpatine and Vader won....
You see what where I'm going this.

The Empire would have crushed the Rebellion with ease. Stats-wise, the Death Star could easily plow through an entire fleet due to the strength of its shields. The Empire also has plans for the old Confederate Vulture Droids, which they could use to protect the poorly designed exhaust port. But Kota stated in best in the Fail Unleashed that the Empire's forces is infinite. Strike a fleet down and they will simply field one more powerful than the last. Not to mention that if not for the 'Good Guys Gotta Win' trope, Luke would have been smoked while in the Trench, because some of those turrets would have to be controlled by turrets, and those turrets would not miss. They could easily calculate his flight plan, and force of not, Luke would have been smoked.
There would probably many planets across the galaxy that spoke out against the Empire's tyranny. And also, the Stormtroopers were replaced by inexperienced humans rather than the Clones who were far more experienced.
