Our Xbox will not read games. Everytime we put in a disc it just makes a humming sound. Anybody know how to fix, or what is wrong? We tried taking it apart and lubing up the dvd drive rails, and cleaning with canned air, but it did not work. Help?

Look through this:

Or hope you still have warranty.

That link was for Xbox 360. I'm talking about the first one. It obviously doesn't have warranty...lol

The laser may be broken or loose. You could try searching on how to fix that.

Other than that I'm not sure :?:

Chances are you're going to have to replace the drive.

If you're at least just a little tech savvy, and can find a walk through fix, you should be able to do it your self.
