About this time last year, we were all super excited about the possibility of Battlefront 3 being announced at Comic-Con. Ah, feels like just yesterday, doesn't it? Anyway, Battlefront's obviously not going to be at this years Comic-Con, but I'm pleased to tell y'all that something even more exciting will be.
Hasbro will be selling their brand new official Derpy Hooves toy. Yes, you read that right. There's going to be an official Derpy toy: derped eyes and everything. Are you as thrilled about this as I am? The answer is no. It is not possible to be as thrilled about this as I am, despite the fact that I can't even go to Comic-Con, so I won't be getting one myself. Here's the article.
It...it...it looks awful.
The only good non-expensive, non-plushie toys are made here but they only make Vinyl Scratch right now and Octavia before. Hopefully more as they go on. Their affordable and very high quality.

Awful? I know that it's not perfect, but I think it's pretty neat. Hasbro's official toys have never been as good as the fan-made ones, but they're getting better.
I think the concept is cool, Hasbro giving the fandom a nod n' all, but the toys underwhelm me. They're just G3 molds with G4 paint.AnthonyOstrich wrote:Awful? Cynicism

I don't think they are. The G3 ponies look very different, with the most noticeable difference being the head shape. I don't belive there were any G3 ponies with the G4-style heads, though I could be mistaken.Scott wrote:AnthonyOstrich wrote: They're just G3 molds with G4 paint.
The models look fairly show-accurate, minus the tail and manes. They need to make them brushable and such.
Ah, I'd rather a sandstone figure any day. Just me I guess.AnthonyOstrich wrote:I don't think they are. The G3 ponies look very different, with the most noticeable difference being the head shape.
