Hey guys,

I've just read that some Russian guy is selling 1.5 million facebook account log on details. Which roughly means theres a 1 in 300 chance that hes got yours. If you have alot of details on your facebook page fraudsters can use that info to open up a bank account in your name and max outs its overdraft etc.

Not only that but all of the info up on your profile and one of your friends has had thier accounts nicked they can potentially use thier accounts to get at your info.

So yeah if you have an account, I suggest changing the password immediatly and looking over the info you've put up on your accounts and consider taking it down.

heres a link if your interested:

If people use their bank account password for other things, they deserve this. A completely idiotic thing to do. ONLY use your unique banking passwords for each individual bank you use.

The worst anyone could do to my account is make look stupid, which very easy to explain to the people he said it too.

Do you know how he got the accounts? I would assume social engineering.

This would probably be terrifying if I actually had a facebook account. However, I'm willing to bet the majority of these accounts were obtained from people who didn't even try to hide their passwords, in which case they should probably learn something from this.

I posted this a while ago but if I remember correctly it was a take on the msn virus:

hey look at my cool pictures: www.youjustgotavirus.com

but it was doing it through those annoying groups on facebook, the ones which say something ridiculous, then ask you to become a fan, then ask you to visit a website to fill in an online survey.

Then he probably did the whole lets see how many passwords are called password.
