Crytek Audio Director

Post by Sam »

This refers to the front page article.

Haven't looked through it in much detail but did notice these things at a quick glance:
Games I have worked on (excluding currently working on)
Composer and Sound Designer (in chronological order)

1994 Killer Instinct - Arcade, Super Nintendo + Gameboy
1995 Killer Instinct 2 - Super Nintendo
1995 Donkey Kong Land - Gameboy
1997 Blastcorps - Nintendo 64
1997 GoldenEye - Nintendo 64
2000 Jet Force Gemini - Nintendo 64
2000 Perfect Dark - Nintendo 64, Xbox Live Arcade
2000 Timesplitters - Playstation 2
2002 Timesplitters 2 - Playstation 2, Gamecube and Xbox
2003 Timesplitters 2 - Gameboy Advance
2004 Second Sight - PS2, Xbox, Gamecube + PC
2005 Timesplitters Future Perfect - PS2, Xbox + Gamecube
2008 Haze - Playstation 3
xxxx Star Wars Battlefront 3 - PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii
xxxx Star Wars Battlefront 4 - PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii
2009 Zinky Zonk - Facebook App by Zinky Zonk Ltd
2010 Gangsta Petz - Facebook App by Zinky Zonk Ltd
2011 Crysis 2 - PS3, Xbox 360, PC
2011 Crysis - PSN, XBLA
2011 This is David Conrad - Short Film
1) The list doesn't include titles currently being worked on
2) All those games with the exception of BF3 and BF4 have been released
3) The list is in Chronology order
4) BF3 and BF4 appear in the list x'd out around the time when Free radical went under
5) I think the xxxx refers to the games getting cancelled but he wanted to include them because he didn't want any CV gaps.

However, I admit the possibility that he may have moved project within Crytek and BF3/4 may still be worked on by others but I find the probability of Crytek working on a game and its sequel for 4 years without any public disclosure minimal.

Just my 2 cents, will take a more in depth look at all the sources when not so hung over.

What is everybody else thinking?

It's cool to know Free Radical was planning Battlefront 4 (enough to make it on a resume).

CryENGINE and StarWars games (especially Battlefront) seem destined for each other, just as I believe Bethesda and a Star Trek RPG are a match. If Spark doesn't poop out our game, my new hope will be: as Revenge of the Sith 3D is finished being forcibly re-marketed to the planet, Crytek will announce or be in production of BF3. One can dream.

Edit: Actually, it would probably be The Empire Strikes Back 3D.
Lost Planet was my second guess, but I couldn't figure how there'd be enough sword play to mention it.

I'd prefer Crytek over SU, but SU has hired so many new employees there's probably not too many similarities to the old SU.
