Most music nowadays is horrible (double cringe at lil wayne and Gaga) but there is still some good stuff... I don't really listen to the older stuff so I don't have a favorite album.
I'm more of a punk rock sort of guy so i would have to go with the Dookie album by Green Day

Hey troopercody, me too!!! My favortie is Bullet in a Bible by Green Day. Green Day kinda went downhill with 21st Century Breakdown, listen to American Idiot(my first ever bought album, but it was digital). So me, Bullet in a Bible-Green Day, and best song on their is Boulevard of Broken Dreams(so EPICLY amazing)
Dont get me wrong, I still love old stuff like AC/DC, Aersomith, Pearl Jam, Metallica, some Pink Floyd. Favorite older song is either Hells Bells-AC/DC or Alive-Pearl Jam. I just hate rap/pop, whatever the heck they call it today. I seem to be one of the only 14 year old in my city that doesn't like that garbage, let alone the only person in my city
I guess I do walk alone...

Just got 4 new albums and although there mostly alternative I thought I'd throw up some of my thoughts.
Midnite Vultures by Beck
- if you like Beck you'll like Midnite Vultures
- very up tempo and groovy
- 9.5/10
Brothers by The Black Keys
- low key alternative blues at its finest
- a great vocalist with a great drummer makes an awesome duo
- 8.5/10
Audioslave by Audioslave
- fast paced hard rock with lighter tones on certain songs
- varied yet focussed
- 7.5/10
Manners by Passion Pit
- strange...very strange
- too much like pop for me although I do admit to enjoy some songs quite a bit
- 6.5/10
If anyone wants a more thorough look at the albums let me know.

So anyone watch the grammys this year?

Not sure if thread is off track...
Or if sidetracking is legit here...
My favorite album of all time is Appetite for Destruction by Guns N' Roses.
The Album is still the best selling debut album in music history. Guns N' Roses is my favorite band, by the way. Into the older stuff.

I hate to sound like a hipster, but I find them too mainstream and I never end up seeing bands I like play or win anything.ctrooper wrote:So anyone watch the grammys this year?

That is most certainly a great album.. I remember when it came out.Noctarchy wrote:

Mine would have to be Master of Puppets by Metallica, which of course is my favorite band.. minus everything after the Black Album.
Well this thread did kind of start with a mention of last years Grammys so...

Oh yes, with my distaste for them. I simply avoided the ridiculous display all together. I don't know anything other then Adele and the Foo Fighters won some awards.ctrooper wrote:Well this thread did kind of start with a mention of last years Grammys so...
I'm doing my best to simply avoid things I don't like in order to not have them affect me. It's energy better spent with things I do like.
Other people can feel free to discuss them though.
