looks kind of cool, but it wouldn't work for something like bf3, or any fps of any kind

Project Natal is marketed at the casual gamers. Racing games, some fighting games, and other hardcore games might work, but I don't see any gamer pretending to turn a wheel and press a gas pedal just for the extra "fun" anytime soon. It's less of a product and more of a marketing plan. The Wii did so well getting into the casual space that Microsoft is trying as well. Also BF3 would not work with it because it can't track if your bending your finger or pulling the trigger. Try looking for PlayStation Move. A motion controller that will be able to work with BF3. And before you make the assumption that is just the Wii, check the technical specs and you will see that is much different (because it actually works :P).

I wish natal was compatible with bf3, but turning a wheel could help in my driving skills-or not.

I wouldn't get too worked up about motion controllers because I think there just a fad. Or at least hope they are.

now they have tapped into the casual market they won't stop. Nintendo in particular have made way to much money out of it. I think they will try to further develop the motion control area.

...tapped into the casual market...
Yes, but it's exactly as you said, casual. The casual market isn't a business, it's a quick money pit. Do you really think young children, or older parents are researching about the new games coming out? I doubt it. They probably see a commercial with Mario on it and take there wallets for a trip to the store. A consumer base you can count on his hardcore gamers because they will buy the new games and hardware constantly while the casual gamers just want to have casual fun. Nintendo might even get a 2nd or a 3rd Wii out there. But eventually shovelware with motion controls won't hold up or make money anymore. There also abandoning there once hardcore base with this (and Metroid Other M). Nintendo is smart doing this though but I think eventually it will come back to bite them in the ass.

I have my bet on the ps3 with dualshock 3 living far longer than the new controllers with motion

they wont neccessarilly continue down the path of motion control, I agree that will soon grow old but I do still think that nintendo will focus more on the user friendly style of gameplay than the hardcore sense.

I read about this in the newspaper a while back:

This sounds cool but will it really work? Right now mind controlled anything only has 2-4 options for you to think. IF it works it would probably be a pretty penny to buy it and the head gear you would have to wear would probably looks quite ridiculous. I don't think we'll be seeing this till maybe 2030....

I don't think I want anything hooked up to my mind...EVER! I just don't want something to go wrong, and...

I also wander if it's real? Was it just a patent or an official announcement? If it is real, I'm disappointed in my nerd prowess that I had missed the announcement some how :(
