PSN Down

Post by Ironman21 »

I got on yesterday, 28th of Feb, and it was down where any old model ps3 won't work anymore. It can't play games anymore until an update is issued to fix the date error.
It sucks. You get mw2 and can't play it.

Anybody else having problems?

I heard about this, something to do with it being the 1st of march 2010 and this creating a massive bug for ps3 users, however, i've heard this as since been fixed:

pretty massive screw up but can't knock sony for getting on the issue and solving it asap

It's funny because the PS3 is supposed to be a highly sophisticated piece of technology yet a simple leap year calculation can't be done properly.

And the 60% failure rate for the 360 is nothing? No but in a less fanboy related comment, the problem is because of calender issue. It's mainly to do with the PSN being confused about your PS3 and it's whereabouts. My FAT PS3 is fine because I don't have PSN.

Yeah. Sony jumped on the issue and in less than 24 hours it was fixed

Pretty good service for free online I'd say.
