Melee Attacks: Rifle Butting!!!!! Pistol Whipping!!!!!
Better Sniping: As a clone in BFII I always found it hard to snipe Droids. Also AI movement was erratic and unpredictable which made BFII a sniper unfriendly game.
Bigger Maps/ 40 player games: I've heard other numbers thrown around but i think 40 would be good with larger maps and not have too much lag.

So... how is this different enough from your other thread to warrant an entirely new one?
Anyway, melee attacks would be pretty useless in Battlefront. Seeing as how nearly all of the units are either wearing helmets/armor, or... they're friggen robots.

Oh sorry, forgot about my other thread. My bad. But still melee attacks would still work because:
A) Some factions dont wear armour. (rebels)
B) You could smash Droids anyway by rifle butting them.
C) Even with armour, being hit over the head with a rifle would hurt.
Anyway, it's better than a knife attack.

Melee attack is used in Elite squadron and you could also use melee weapons.

I think if it was used right it would work well.

I dunno, I've taken a rifle butt to the head/chest with typical, standard-issue Army equipment. More annoying than painful. I'd imagine that future space-armor or whatever would be even less effected by it.
But then again, this is Star Wars. Where a stick with a sharp rock on the end being tossed by a teddy bear can kill somebody.
If it is implemented, it should not be something that kills. A quick stun that lets you get your distance is all that's needed.

I agree with Kelevra, a rifle butt should only be a stun move. These are clones of a basic guy, not super solders or wookies.

To argue against myself, Jango Fett was an ordinary (if deadly) human but those clones have been training since they where kids for war. But then again you're right about the ewok thing...
A stun would work best I think, sometimes shooting at close range gets very hectic.

I think they should take the knive-attack of Republic Commando and evolve it to a more intense way of meleeing...
A bit like the scripted melee kills in Killzone 3, of course more non-brutal scenes.
There would also be the possibility of for example a clone being in range for a melee kill on a spider droid, he could jump onto the droid and take him out by five shots out of his endless-munition-pistol (like seen in Episode III on Utapau).
I think if there would be such moves for every charakter whether you smash a head against a wall or push somebody over a balcony in the deep this would be genius.

Thats a point. Most (non Jedi) characters in star wars have vibroblades (at least in the expanded universe)

That pretty much sums up my reaction to that.
I like the Death Star Idea. While not very original, it is something we all want to see.
