PSP and N-routers

Post by GeneralChaz9 »

Is it possible for those two to be compatible? The PSP doesn't support WPA2 either. I sort of miss my online gaming with the Battlefront Squadrons :(

I have tried opening ports and that only partially resolved the problem, because then my PSP only connected 1 out of 4 times.

Any fixes? spartan64 said he could help, but he can't tell until tomorrow.

Some guy mentioned that the PSP is incompatible with the router you have. :SS
I guess you will need a new router (not Net-Gear).

I've read that forum before Scott(and no its not me :P )

And it couldn't be the router because I have connected to it before. It all went to hell when I updated my routers firmware.

I may know the problem though. My router is set to Up To 150 Mbps which is N rate, and maybe I can knotch it down to Up To 54 Mbps, it might work...

No. I turned my router down from 150 Mpbs(N rate) down to 54 Mpbs(G rate?) and then turned the security to WEP and it still didn't work, it just keeps timing out. At least it ALMOST connects, it just doesn't reach the IP address part.

Also would Port Forwarding/Triggering work? I believe that is how I got these two to connect before...

My PSP will not connect to our router. Its an N rated router and the PSP doesn't support it, however, I have been able to use my PSP on this same exact router before I updated the router.

Just revert to your default firmware and it should be fine. Is the newer firmware really required? My guess would be no.

I'm assuming somewhere on your computer you will be able to see the router connected. Go there and look for format, defaults, revert to original, or something like this. If not look through your manual or go to where you downloaded the new firmware and look for the old firmware.
