Depends on how much my new watch runs me. If I can get substantial hours on Marxh break I'll be doing a lot of gaming backtracking. OddWorld HD, Jak+Daxter HD (I'm a sucker for collections) and Twisted Metal will be on the list.

Twisted Metal is what got me into gaming. I still own Twisted Metal 2 on disk, my first game :'D

Anyway, I've had it on pre-order. Did you know the first batch comes with TM Black free as a download for PS3?

Thanks for telling me that. Hopefully that means another Saints Row situation wont happen to me.

Have it Love it.

Story has like 18 levels but they are sweet. other than the racing ones :/ . Online is currently glitchy but the matchs i have had are fun. :P not to mention ive gotten my non gamer sister to play me in a few split screen rounds ( a feature that seems to be vanishing form most shooters)

Well, I play on the Xbox 360, so, I couldn't get it even if I wanted it. It's not really a good game, nor is it different than any other generic shooter, your character is just a car. The storyline isn't really... good at all. Back on the PS2 I played TM 2 and TM Black, so I actually have ground to base that opinion on. I never really enjoyed them back then, either. Also the driving mechanics aren't realistic whatsoever, and some of the drivers are completely overpowered.

But that's kind of the point. It's not supposed to have an epic story, and frankly only maybe 5-10 games really ever have, and it's not a sim racer, nor a generic game where certain weapons aren't allowed to be more powerful.

In a game series where you can freeze cars by firing ice at them, transform an ice-cream truck into a mecha, and launch kamikaze hospital patients at somebody, you're complaining about the driving mechanics being unrealistic?

For those uncool people who don't follow me on Twitter, I got a chance to play it, and it's fantastic! The shear thrill of racing through a town, posing through houses, while being chased by a mech shooting rockets at you while you attempt to hit the health semi is adrenaline pumping.

Sweet Tooth's [tiny] story line is also surprisingly interesting and actually quite scary. The rumours of a Twisted Metal movie is an interesting idea (the cutscenes are live action so it"s not much of a jump) but will probably never pull through to a motion picture.

If it was just a game where you drove around with a gun mounted on your hood, no one would play it. Since they couldn't make it good in the first place, they made it as outlandish as possible.

That's because it isn't a racing game, it's a car combat game and nobody would play it if there was just a gun on the hood because it would lack variety. Twisted Metal being outlandish is not a negative. How could it be bad because it's original?
