Thanks, everyone. The updated patent shows they might be planning a massive media blitz. It's also confirmation of some type of online, and the way it's worded may show the rumored Battlefront:Online may be alive

I honestly hope Battlefront Online dies. I want local split screen, a campaign, etc. I don't BFIII could compete simply online anyway.

Are they going to try and turn Battlefront into the next Force Unleashed? With a bunch of tie in novels, comics, action figures, and junk? Because that constitutes getting rid of what the previous games were, and throwing in crappy stuff like 'stories' Elite Squadron style.

Ever since the prequels George Lucas has seen Star Wars as a business first with marketability at the forefront and actual good entertainment as a second.

Can someone explain me what this means?

They could have stated all those things in the patent so they can legally challenge anybody leeching of the franchise by selling crappy merchandise in any shape or form.

Personally I would find Star wars battlefront the:

collectible miniature board game

hilarious.

They just have to state all those things to legally protect their property from infringement in any form, even toy helmets. It's not saying they WILL make each and every one of those from Battlefront, just that they, and only they, reserve the right to.
