Helpful Tip for iOS Users (iPod, iPhone and iPad)

As a Gmail user I've always hated the need to fetch my mail instead of it bing pushed to my iPad. For those who don't know Fetching means that when you open the app or your schedule goes off the app "asks" the server if there is any new mail, if there is you are notified. This sucks because you either have to check manually or waste battery life fetching.
Push allows the server to do that work for you. When a new email arrives on the server it is "pushed" to your app. No schedule, no manual loading, quick notifications.
Unfortunately Gmail doesn't allow pushing but you can do a small adjustment to allow it to. All you have to do is to add your email account in Settings (on your iOS device) as Microsoft Exchange. When it asks for domain, leave it empty, server is m.google.com and the rest is your gmail info.
Now you can activate push on that account and enjoy its benefits!
Since getting push working a few days ago I've been glowing with how well it works. I always hated checking my mail and now I never have to.
