I've recently started playing Battlefield 3, and I must say that I've fallen in love with it. I mainly play Conquest mode, and I thought today how similar Battlefield becomes to Battlefront in that mode. Teams fight over command areas, which serve as spawn points, and each additional area in a team's possession lessens the exhaustion of their reinforcements. The different weapons, equipment, and specializations that each soldier class boasts is another similarity, along with the plethora of vehicles available for use.

I understand that there are many games that follow this design, but these two stand out to me because they both do it very, very well. If you haven't yet checked out Battlefield 3, you won't be disappointed.

Battlefront's entire purpose was to take the Battlefield model and put Star Wars skins overtop.

I think the modding team who spearheaded the Galactic Warfare mod for CoD should do something for Battlefield.

That would actually be the closest thing to an actual Battlefront 3 until the real game comes out, even more so than the Galactic Warfare mod.

+1 I totally agree. They way do things in both games is very similar. I rented Battlefield 3 and really liked... So I ordered a copy, should be here today, I am excited!

Considering Battlefront is essentially Battlefield 1942 in space, the similarity should be expected.
