Levels and Commando Missions

I thought it would be cool to have levels tied to an account that you would use as your user name online. Your level would go up as you play multiple games under specific factors.
After you reach a certain level, you would become a marine, which would allow you to fly to space, operate the Ion cannon and other equipment., and get a more detailed map. When you get to another checkpoint, you would become a commando. It's just like the marine, except this is where the commando missions come into play.
A commando mission is a secondary objective that, while not leveling you up faster, will help your team win. these would include things like fix the Ion cannon, defend this command post for 1 minute, destroy the enemy ships shields and taking down an enemy commando among other things.
I feel these things will enhance the battlefront experience, but what do you guys think? Post your Ideas and how you feel below.

I'd welcome an addition like side missions as long as they aren't too huge a part of the game.
What I really liked about you're idea, though was that ranking up gives you more authority, not better weopeans. I liked having badges and leveling up in BF2 because it gave you a goal to work towards. But I didn't like how you become really powerful. It takes away from Battlefront's feeling of being just one trooper in a huge battle.
If ranking up to, as you said, marine gives you access to using the ion cannon or directing the capital ship, while still giving you the same weopeans to fight with, I think that would be an ideal system top make leveling up fulfilling but not overpowering.

MAG + Battlefield + Star Wars = Battlefront 3

Id like to see a RDR-esque challenge system and maybe Battfield style squads but with a squad leader that can actually give orders. (with penalties if they aren't followed).

I don't think I'd be to happy getting a penalty for not following "xXCoDfan420Xx's" orders to attack a harmless enemy position on the opposite side of the map.

I'm Kelevra on this one. I just don't see it working in battlefront.

agreed Kelevra, I think it should be a single player mission thing. There have been times when im on Kashyyyk and all I want is to send in a flank of Tanks whall i sit back on a rock snipping wookies and rebels or clearing a cantina or two with a few shocktroopers. The thing is that it has to be subtile. nothing to advanced like ghostrecon AWF. just simple "you go there, you move first, you clear that damn Hovel" type dealio.... THAT would be swhaeat.
As for missions.... All i want is a better single player campain. something that isnt so drawn out.... and gives YOU the player freedoms to control the outcomes. It would be cool to have to work your way up in rank ON the battle feild instead of just with points on the aftergame board. All that is subject to the mission of course... sometimes its good to be the only one capuring CPs and destroying droids.

Ok sO penalties would be hugely abused, but small four man squads that are assigned objectives could work right?

I'd say it could work. im no developer, but i dont see how it couldn't. idk about penilties. I guess if you accidently shot your team member in the head it MIGHT affect your points.... hahaha It could be like in BF2 "I'm on your side!"
