Was Red Fly Studios making B3?

Recently, gameinformer reported that developer Red Fly Studious had dismissed 30 employees, as the publisher they were working with decided to cancel the "large high-profile project" they were working on.

Now, gameinformer and Superannuation have discovered a resume of a former Red Fly employee named Patrick Doran. What's curious about his resume is this statement:
"Environment Artist (January-June 2011) for next-gen Star Wars title".
http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/arch ... oject.aspx

So it appears that Red Fly's publisher at the time of the staff cuts was indeed Lucas Arts, since it was June when both the cuts and the project cancellation was made.

As the project was 'next-gen' (and the fact that Red Fly are known for making ports), it could have well been a Battlefront 3 port or another anticipated SW game port, especially since the developer already have experience with porting TFU2 for the Wii.

As Superannuation also realised (http://twitter.com/#!/supererogatory/st ... 4037754881), the lay offs mean this is the fourth time that Lucas Arts have cancelled a Star Wars project from contracted developers, which have always consequently resulted in lay offs.

Whether if Red Fly were working on B3 or a different SW game, it's unacceptable that LA should continually cancel SW projects knowing that employees will be left without a job.

It's also possible that Red Fly were working on the port for Spark's Battlefront 3, as Spark may be creating the 360, PS3 and PC versions only.

I think there's a possible chance that they were working on TFU 3 or another Bounty Hunter game, more a chance then Battlefront III. But they very well could of been working on a port for SWBF3 while Spark does the PS3, XBox 360, and PC version, but I highly doubt it.

I think that lucas arts wants someone to port it to wiiU. (check out the wiiU topic in news and rumours)

LucasArts needs to make a commitment with a developer they can afford, work with, happy with, etc. This is unacceptable! Are we going to see any other PS3/X360 Star Wars game that isn't TFU or LEGOs?

Maybe it was RC2... NOOOOOOO!!! either way this sucks. But there's still hope. The countdown clock on Spark's homepage ends today, keep your eye's peeled.

I credit the success of the LEGO games solely to Traveler's Tales. LucasArts seems incapable of doing anything right nowadays.

Hi, first off I am sorry for your job loss, I myself was made redundant for 6 months a while back and I feel for you :)

I noticed on your site you talk of working on a next gen star wars title before red fly had its cutback.

I understand about the contracts and all that crap that make it hard to talk about stuff like this but :
I am a star wars geek and the resourceful type we are I wanted to ask you something.
You couldn't hint at what it was ? Battlefront 3 ? Or maybe a wii port of it.
Even more worrying is that the project was cancelled ( I am sure you know of it's long history with other companie s.  So it's fate is very interesting .
Normally I wouldn't dare ask someone but because the project is canceled we may never hear what it was to quote " your our only hope " free radical were developing a version for ps3 and XBOX a few years ago and the only reason anyone knew about it was because of ex employees , lucasarts never even announced the game.
I mean I know you can't but, wouldnt It be neat if you made a star wars fans day ?

Thanks So much

I know this is stupid to ask but the heck I might as well :)
Is it to much to ask for a screenshot? It may be the only record of whatever game you were working on. .

Thanks :D

And the simple response

That was a typo in my resume which meant to only say Next-Gen title.   /quote]

The question is do we believe him or has he been legally silenced?

My thoughts exactly , he might be bound by a contract and trying to shake me off, or he might be right

I doubt that, it's a stretch to put a typo by typing STAR WARS.
