Class vs. Customization in BFIII?

Honestly I like the class choosing better because it feels more "arcade like" then sitting around fixing around your classes trying to perfect it and if it doesnt work then to mess with them more blah blah blah! I prefer the old classes :)-

What about you guys?

(Classes are like from the first two Battlefronts, Customization is like from the Squadron titles)

I'm fine with a limited amount of customization in terms of weapons; where each class is limited to a small pool of weapons and items. That's about it, though.

Having all sorts of unique-looking units running around gets rid of the 'Star Wars'ness of everything.

I like the classes are better to because it makes it feel like a real star wars battle. Like in the movies the stormtroopers don't sit around customizing their armor and mess around with their weapons. Oh and in BFIII there could be more classes as well.

Customization kills...balancing.

Yup, I can't stand dropping into battle online on Elite Squadron and some guy drills me with a crossbow, jetpack, and health/speed on 3. I actually customize my character with weapons like BF 1 and 2 lol

Yea, I agree, it feels more 'Star Wars' to have classes, not like Call of Duty.

I agree as well. It wouldn't feel right if I didn't have the classes.

Your poll is misleading. I'm gonna choose both.
btw the credit system in Renegade and Elite squadron makes customization balanced. Powerful items use up more credits and weaker items use less. The max amount of credits is 100. For example, if you choose a powerful item lets say... a guided rocket worth 40 credits, you would only be able to get weaker stamina and health. Or you could have stronger stamina and stronger health but you can only use a weak weapon like a blaster pistol. (this is made up)

I agree with spartan. Customization can be balanced. It's mostly all aesthetic, anyway.

I think classes and customisation could both be implemented well. Besides we know that special forces clones did have customised armour (republic commando game and novels) and that other clone regiments had colours on their armour. I think if there was set classes each with 5 different weapons it could work. Also for armour customisation I would like to see this, I know it would get out of hand in multiplayer but customisation in Single player (or co-op. I really want co-op) a la Mass Effect 2 could be fun. And I think that SP and co-op should be about ARC Troopers or Republic Commandos.
