It has got to be one of the most amazing concepts I have ever come across. Its not that well known yet but I hope its going to turn into something massive. Basically the idea is to translate the entirety of the web into as many languages as possible. To do this they are making (nearly completed) a website that people can access for free that provides a free language learning service. It gets the user to learn a new language by translating actual content on the web from one language to the next. It starts of by giving beginners very basic words or phrases to translate and slowly ramps up the difficulty. It offers the same text to several users so it can then mine all the subsequent translations to produce the most accurate translation possible.
The initial results look very promising and the rate at which you learn a new language for free rivals that of the very expensive language software out there.
Anyway, I found it very interesting and just wanted to share and spread the word! I will certainly check this project out when it goes live.

Wow. That's a huge goal and a lot of talk for a project that hasn't even started.
If I understand correctly, it will begin with a blank slate where users must translate the web? Who's to say they hit up every page? Are only major pages going to be translated? Will there be a to-do list concept where sites who've allowed them to be translated will be top priority?
It seems a little vague right now for my complete interest but I can't deny that it sounds cool.
