Rebellion, makers of the ok-ish Renegade and Elite Squadron games, are working on a new third person shooter for the NGP. This is set to debut to the press during the upcoming GDC (February 28 - March 4, 2011).
As explained in the article, the company will be using an engine they used to power their previous Battlefront games, so I have an inclination to think that this new shooter might be a Battlefront title.
Something that I find curious is Rebellion's desire to find 'business partners' at the event. This doesn't mean it won't be a Battlefront game, as Lucas Arts may decide to relegate publishing duties to a larger corporation, similar to how they recently decided to hand over publishing roles for The Old Republic to EA.
Whether it ends up being a new Battlefront or not, i don't really care. As long as it doesn't impact negatively on the development of Battlefront 3 (If it still exists of course) then I see nothing wrong with an extra PSP Battlefront game.

Hopefully it'll be good. I plan on getting the NGP so hopefully this will be worth a pick up.
If it's a new Battlefront: Something Something Squadron, I will have to buy a new T-Shirt to go with my "Front: Kotick is the Anti-Christ!, Back: We'll miss you Bungie
"
And it'll say "Front :Battlefront, on a Handheld? Back: FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU......"
