I thought. Why not fake a job applicant:)

Dear Hiring Manager,

I'm writing to express my interest in the Senior Multiplayer Designer position listed on your website. There's an important reason for my great interest. I've been told that Spark is working with LucasArts on the unannounced Star Wars: Battlefront title for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3. During 2006 - 2008 I worked for Free Radical as an multiplayer engineer. As you may know, the developer went bankrupt after losing the license for Star Wars: Battlefront 3. For more than that 18 months I've worked hard on the tech behind the game. It was very excruciating to see it falling by the wayside. I would love to once again work on the game that literally changed my life.

If I can provide you with any further information on my background and qualifications, please let me know.

I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you for your consideration.

Eliot Greenwood.

That's a pretty underhanded thing to do...

Meh, not a bad idea but there is no way they'd give information like that, especially without a resumé.

Ha! Good try, but if only they weren't so tight lipped.

I'm rather amused, once again Spark DIDN'T deny they were working on the game. I believe this is the second or third time they haven't denied it.

I'm not sure how everybody is alright with this. It just seems extremely wrong to outright lie to somebody to try and compromise the confidentiality of their project.

You probably right. Its wrong, but to be honest, I dont care after 5 years of waiting. LucasArts keeps us in the dark about everything and I think thats very wrong to do as a company these days. How simple can it be to just say 'Hi People, we know you want BF3 and we are working hard to get it you." Instead of that they act like nothing ever happend.

True, but who did it hurt or effect? No one.

Unless they had spilled the beans in the response email and gotten a few people fired.

If they had gave me a response, in which they confirmed developing Battlefront, I wouldnt publish it in this way. I would just simply reffering to it as 'a anonymous source.

To the people who are concerned by the email, think of all the gamers who have conjured up ways to convince Valve to officialy reveal Half Life 2: Episode 3...or Half Life 3 whatever.

What RP89 did is something Half Life fans have been doing now for years, and then some.

I don't know what the problem is with this fake application. Spark obviously didn't fall for it. I can also guarantee you if they did confirm they had the game in the response to the email, you all would've have been happy and not given it a second thought.
