Alright. We're all aching for Battlefront III, I know. But I recall playing tons of Star Wars games that I enjoyed just as much (maybe a little bit more) than Battlefront.
Republic Commando
This game was fun as hell. Honestly, it didn't bring many new features to the table, and its command choices were very limited, but I'll be damned if it wasn't fun to knife Geonosians in the face.
If it were remade today, I can picture it being (probably) on par with a Call of Duty title in terms of cinematic design. The tactical choices and capabilities could also be greatly expanded into a more Brothers in Arms style mechanic. It'd be a welcome change of pace from being the lightsaber/blaster-weilding demi-god that you are in most Star Wars games.
Also, I wanna know what the hell happened to Sev!
Jedi Power Battles
I friggen loved this game. The game loosely followed the events of The Phantom Menace, putting you in the shoes of one of 5 (or 6 if you had the Dreamcast version) Jedi - Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, Plo Koon, Adi Gallia, Mace Windu, and Ki-Adi-Mundi. Each jedi had their own unique set of combos and special force attacks that could be upgraded with points gained in each stage.
I played this game countless times using every jedi to try and rack up as many points, and unlock as much stuff as I could. That, and I always liked Plo Koon, simply because he had an uppercut attack that could launch people off skyscrapers, which was way too entertaining. And an orange lightsaber (which I was incredibly pissed they changed to blue for Attack of the Clones!)
Anyway. If they were to remake the game today, I can see it being a bit like LEGO Star Wars, roughly following the story of the six Star Wars films (and maybe a little bit beyond) I always imagined starting on Episode I as one of the 5/6 characters from the original game and unlocking more and more Jedi/sith characters the more you progress through the game, each with their own set of attacks and abilities. With today's games the potential for 2-4 player offline/online coop would also exist, making the games that much more enjoyable.
It could also include a duel mode similar to the Revenge of the Sith game where you can pit the many characters you unlocked against one another.
Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds
This is THE game that got me interested in the Real-time strategy genre, right next to Red Alert 2. You play as one of 6 (8 with the expansion) civilizations from the Star Wars saga, and fight on various different battlefields from all over the SW universe.
Since I bought this game back in 2002, I STILL play it at least once a week. It's that friggen good. However, the biggest issue that I have with it is the balance. Although it isn't the usual complaint about one side being stronger than another.
I think that the game might be TOO balanced. The majority of the differences between sides are only cosmetic, IE, a TIE Fighter, X-Wing, and Droid Starfighter are all exactly the same in terms of speed, strength, and armor. It's like this for pretty much everything, save for a handful of unique units for each side.
If a new installment of the game is ever released, I would hope to see a larger number of differences between each civilization, which would bring about an entirely new level of thinking, instead of the simple 'use X unit against Y unit' method.
(in other news, Polls really need more than just 10 choice slots)

I voted Republic Commando and no other. It was a phenomenal game that ended with that damn cliffhanger. I'm coming Sev!
I would normally choose Galactic Battlegrounds as well, but seeing how they completely screwed up Empire at War I don't want them ruining another RTS.
Otherwise Jak and Daxter would be a nice franchise to see a sequel for. A console sequel, none of this PSP BS. Oh, and Elder Scrolls V (give Fallout a rest Bethesda)

I voted commando. Never played the first but I heard it was really good.
I also voted other. which for me would be the bounty hunter game. The game was awsome but i felt it didnt reach its potential. if they remade the game in more of a open world environment that would be awesome.
galatic battleground was an amazing game. I would still be playing it today if only it worked on windows 7. That being said if it is remade it would probably be in 3d which i have always hated for RTS games.

Unless proof is provided BF3 does not exist.
I agree with you other than Starcraft II and Dawn of War I (don't like the second). Games like Stronghold Crusader, Age of Empires, and of course, Galactic Battlegrounds, are all fantastic 2D RTS games.BobaFett wrote:That being said if it is remade it would probably be in 3d which i have always hated for RTS games.

Dark Forces defiantly.

Another Bounty Hunter game would kick ass. Something like Grand Theft Auto in a Star Wars setting. I always felt like the first Bounty Hunter was a bit too straightforward. It never felt like you were actually doing any 'hunting,' unless you were looking for the optional bounties. Even then you could capture them effortlessly. Coming up with complex, creative ways to capture/kill targets to avoid public suspicion/panic would be fun as hell too.BobaFett wrote: I also voted other. which for me would be the bounty hunter game. So basically Grand Theft Auto + Red Dead Redemption + Hitman + Assassin's Creed + Star Wars. Implausible as hell, but completely awesome.

I would definitely get Republic Commando 2 if it ever comes out
I voted for Empire at War. This game is still my favorite starwars game but sadly it only features the empire, rebel and consortium factions. I really want a sequel with the republic and cis factions. Republic at War could be the right name for it.

I am not pleased to see this (I knew about ages ago). I don't want mods (I downloaded and made many mods for this game). All mods did is screw up my game. And they are not perfect at my standards. LA should make a sequel. Change the engine, change from petro to Ubisoft, more precise animations and make the graphics HD.Kelevra wrote:You may be pleased to see this:spartan_sixtyfour wrote:I voted for Empire at War. I voted only Republic Commando because that was just so freakin awesome! It was never released for the PS2 so I had to play it on my step-brothers Xbox, so I never had much time with it. If they made a #2, I would definetly look into it(if BF3 not out

Gaming is a way to show someone you ARE better than them

I voted republic commando. I haven't actually played as it's on Xbox but I've read the books and they rule. Bounty hunter 2 would be awesome, if it was about boba fett or your own bounty hunter.
Find a copy! It's a great game and must be played if you are a fan of Star Wars or shooters.Wevans199 wrote:I voted republic commando. I haven't actually played as it's on Xbox but I've read the books and they rule.

I've played the demo on my PC but I'm still trying to get the actual game.
Here's a cheap and awesome way to get it: http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Knights ... B000HVTEX6Wevans199 wrote:I've played the demo on my PC but I'm still trying to get the actual game.
