While rummaging through the game site TGN Times I discovered a news page of a company developing a

"groundbreaking multiplayer third person shooter in [an] established franchise".

Could this be the Battlefront 3 we've all been waiting for?

This worries me as the word new is used. Yes, an established franchise, but the word new is different from the word sequel. Nice find nonetheless and I hope I am wrong (although I never am )

In all reality, and I would HATE for this to happen, it might be a reboot of the series given the recent popularity of reboots in games and film.

Or, this Battlefront game might be a standalone entry in the series, with a new plot line, characters, etc that is set apart from the previous games; kinda like what Renegade or Elite Squadron did.

You may hate the idea (I'm right there with you) but that seems possible.
