Pine nuts, Beware

I've been having a bitter taste in my mouth recently. It's not very pleasant. I had no idea why I had this until I saw this topic.

I did have some pine nuts recently, now I will try to avoid them. It's strange that pines nuts could do this. It's also strange the problem is delayed and can last so long. Maybe there is some bacteria that has gotten into pine nuts?

Also, excessive tea drinking can cause a bad taste which is what I get every morning because I drink a lot of white and green tea.

That's really peculiar. I've never had that problem myself and I eat a lot of pine nuts ( or maybe I'm just used to it? ).

Used to it? A strong bitter, "metalic" after-taste that lasts for up to two weeks and becomes most noticeable when you eat anything else?

I don't think so.

It seems some people are immune to this problem. The affected pine nuts come from Asia. Other sources are fine for now, apparently.

The pine nuts I had were from China, so it matches up.

The other day I had a werid soap taste in my mouth and I didn't take a shower that day. Can you explain that?

No. Not that day at least. I think it could of been from a glass I was using that I just got.

I've never had that problem. I've pine nuts several times (on salad) but I think they were toasted. I wonder does toasting/not-toasting have something to do with it?

Never ate them before. Guess it was soap left from a glass that was probably not clean all the way or something. Other than that, never had that problem before.
