Type of Campaign

What type of Campaign should bf3 have. I would just like to hear a couple of ideas about the campaign, or if you would rather have a strong multiplayer for star wars battlefront 3.

I liked the way in which BF2 (not 3 :11: ) followed the 501st, however, they couldn't really expand into a deeper storyline other than:

So we went to this planet, shot a few droids/ewoks, blew some stuff up, suffered casulties, then we went to this planet.....

I think if they followed a general/admiral and made the story line around him/her throughout one of the major wars that could be cool.

They can't really follow individual troops that you take control of because the whole point of battlefront is that you die...alot...well its not but you get my point :2:

or perhaps i'd like to see a campaign situated around the difficulties and horrors of war, make you fight in some really difficult terrain.

Like felucia should have been made a whole lot worse, more dense, droids more dug in, harder to see your enemy etc.

Make it seem more of an actual war.

What have you been told? :2:

I would also like, as Tretarn said, a much more immersive experience. I would really like to see the addition of blood. Like Republic Commando but even more gruesome. I'm not blood crazed or anything, but if you were crouching around as a sniper in Felucia and you find Republic bodies covered in blood it would add some tension to the game's atmosphere. Blood and gore can be a really effective mood setter if used properly. I think the audience of BFIII would be a mature audience anyway.

Wait, why would there be blood? I thought lasers and lightsabers didn't cause the target to bleed, unless you were talking about them getting mauled by an Acklay, then yes...gore to the max!

And I personally hated the fact when I played Instant action, all the clones were 501'st, I mean...Why didn't they just put the normal legion of clones that were assigned to take that planet? As for campaign, I could care less what they do as long as they add a much more detailed Battle of Coruscant, Kashyyyk, Felucia and Mygeeto. (And B1 battle droids)

Maybe it could be like Battlefront 1 where each side gets their own story (But larger, of course).

It seems when video games try to do that they suck (AvP for instance). Maybe they could follow the movies starting off as republic but then change over to rebels (or CIS to embire). Similar to BFII but the entire 6-ilogy (?) not just the 501st story.

To be honest, blood would be a little un-star wars-esque. I think someone mentioned this in another topic... the smoke animation upon impact of a laser like in the movies, I think would be a more valued addition. I believe it would also add to the immersion. Add some smoke/dust filters, but down go overboard and create a stereotypical "brown" fps. I don't think blood would be necessary for the immersion of BF3. I think we just need a more aggressive AI, and make the laser fights more like those seen in the films, and immersion will find it's way there. Just a question: was I the only one who was annoyed by the "air stripes" that occurred when boosting a fighter in space?

I want something similar to BF1. Where you have campaigns of the different factions. But they should be a little longer than last time. Also should have alternate endings.

I would like to have a multiplayer campaign.

That would be pretty cool, in which you and your online friends can join you in the campaign in your reign.

Exactly. Plus, there won't be just silly AI running around while you try to win.

Really didn't like the Ally AI in the game. There as dumb as your Ally AI's in Halo 3.

I always hated it when you had 10 reinforcements left to try and complete the objective and you see three ally AI's standing right close together, see a grenade come in, AI unaware of this and then boom. 7 reinforcements left :2:

But with multiplayer, they would know more likely when that happened.

Multi-player campaign would definitely be fun, but I personally would like to see it still be challenging. When you're adding more (human) players on the harder difficulty campaign, it should also make the campaign more difficult. I don't want to see the same difficulty that you can beat on your own, appear in the campaign with you and seven of your friends.
