Is Mass Effect the next Star Wars?

Mass Effect is a sci-fi based RPG that takes place in the late 22nd century in which humanity recently joins the galactic community. What are your thoughts on the Mass Effect Trilogy and do you think it could be the next Star Wars? I think it could be.

Well, no, it's a game. They don't translate well into movies and many people don't take them very seriously as a form of media (even if they make more money than pretty much every other form).

Mass Effect has a good story and background. In case your wondering, they announce they are making a mass effect movie with Legendary Pictures or Industries (the people who helped with The Dark Knight and 300) wit Ex Marvel producer Avi Arad working on it. As well as 3 people from BioWare, including Casey Hudson are executive producers. Forgot the other two guys names.

Yes but there are many game-movies out there and most - if not all - are terrible. Many also get shut down before taking off the ground. Take the Halo movie for instance, it was replaced by District 9 (which rocks). I wouldn't get too excited for the movie until you hear that it has started shooting and what the budget is.

I can't really think of anyone who looks like him or could make it seem realistic. Sci-Fi movies with aliens of that crazy of nature aren't too big right now. District 9 was gritty and real and Mass Effect is like Star Wars and Star Trek had a baby, or at least adopted one. My main point is that Mass Effect works best as a game and I'm not sure how it's going to transfer to the movie format.

People in the BioWare social forums have a lot of crazy ideas of who should play shepard and the squad.

It's a great game, both of them are. Even Game of the Year worthy. Mass Effect was a candidate for several game of the year awards but didn't win.

I played mass effect 2 and didn't really like it, i got bored and lost
