Have you been using Wine to play on Steam? Have you tried the Ubuntu version of Steam?

Alright, i added everyone. Is there a space between unit and 220. Also, I don't think I was able to add you spartan... It said you weren't part of the community or something.

I'm using the Ubuntu version for games that it supports (mostly TF2), but I have to use the Windows Version under WiNE when I'm playing a game that isn't native for Linux.

Overall the Linux version of Steam is a welcome improvement to the world of Linux gaming, but it has a huge limitation in that you can't download games that don't have a Linux version, even though most of them are playable through WiNE. So I pretty much have to switch between two version of Steam or I'll be limited to Team Fortress 2 plus a selection of indie games. There are other problems with it, but those are mostly bugs that can be fixed. This one is a design flaw that I'm afraid might be here to stay. The selection of games will grow (it seems Valve is pretty confident in that considering their Steam Box will run Linux) which will make this less of a problem. But for now it's a moderate annoyance.
