Due late this year, a comet named ISON will appear on the northern skies flaring out a light brighter than a full moon which could be seen on broad daylight. The comet will remain visible for some time until it fades away into the sun but it is expected to make a second return in spring next year. This comet will be the most spectacular of all and it will definitely be a one in a lifetime event. Can't wait to see it!

I believe there's an asteroid that has an incredibly small chance of colliding with Earth that will be lower than our satellites. It should also be here in our lifetime. Now that will be crazy.

Yep, DA14 is what they call it. It won't collide with Earth on its upcoming approach (will pass Earth late this February) but it may crash into our satellites. However there is a small chance that on its return journey some time in 2026 it will collide with Earth (%0.03 chance of hitting Earth). They say that if it did hit Earth, the force of impact will be less than the Tunguska event.

All this talk of stuff hitting earth makes me wanna live underground haha
