Turns out First Assault is an Xbox Live Arcade game.



Still no other info about it though. Judging from the cover i expect it to be vaguely battlefront-like.

I feel like this is the result of LucasArts having sunk a lot of money into Battlefront 3 at FreeRadical, not being happy with/screwing over FreeRadical(depending on who you talk to), taking a break for several years and realizing the HUGE fan exuberance for BF3.

This could be their answer to that exuberance. They probably didn't want to go through all the trouble (read: time &money) of making an all new Battlefront game so their halfway solution was to create a (possible) multiplayer only Star Wars experience for an online crowd. I bet that's what this is.

Looking at the cover it appears to have Empire-era Stormtroopers instead of Republic Clone Troops. This may point to a timeframe of between Episode III and Episode IV when the Empire was taking over and the Rebellion was forming.

yea i agree with RogueStarkiller, i think he made a good point. But astleast it's not set in the clone wars which makes me happy

Why would you want it regardless? It'll probably end up being the same low effort nonsense LucasArts has been putting out for the past few years anyway.

Well depends if it is a good rated game or not.. still want it to be out on PS3 and PC to give them a chance to play too!

If First Assault will be multiplayer-only then I suspect it will be in the vein of smaller games like BF1943 or TF2. Perhaps there's no campaign because LucasArts want our money faster? Still, it's a step in the right direction if LucasArts plan on reviving the Battlefront games and formula.

Also, unless LucasArts has signed a seven figure deal with Microsoft there's no reason to think they would release the game only for Xbox.

I don't think this game will do well IMO.

The box art came from Xbox.com which they have since changed to the blank generic box art. This DOES NOT mean that it won't be on Playstation, only that it will be on Xbox 360. Large, popular properties like Star Wars are never released for a single console. Playstation people...chillllll.
