I know what the solutions are and this has nothing to do with my homework, just curious to know if someone can work it out. I'll start off with an easy one.

sin(x) = 2

hint... :/

The answer is: There are no solutions, because the codomain of sin is between the interval [-1, 1], -1<x<1
The number 2 doesn't fall between the interval so x = no solutions.

Have you studied goniometric equations before or is this new to you?

I believe they're called trigonometric equations. No they're not new.
