Steam has some problems but out of all the game purchasing service thingies it's still probably the best. Certainly better than Origin from what I've heard.

I'm really only anti-Steam because I'm on dial-up. I'd probably sing a different tune if I could use the service.

Listening to Gabe Newell talk about Linux for hours made me wonder whether he was a former ex-Microsoft employee (where he actually did work in his pre-Valve days in the 90's) or the director of the Linux Foundation. His level of Linux interest and commitment was incredible while his negativity for Windows 8 and the future of Microsoft was stunning.
