I would like to know people's opinions on whether Star Wars The Clone Wars agrees with Star Wars Episodes I - VI. Please explain your reasoning. Also, just so it looks cooler, if you support The Clone Wars cartoon series, make your comments red, and if you oppose it, make it blue! :D

Star Wars is everything mentioned in Episode IV, that's it.

Honestly, the vast majority of Star Wars related stuff is glorified fanfic. There's so much of it, especially clone wars stuff, that it's all just an incomprehensible mess. I'm sort of glad Lucas is taking the liberty of saying "screw that, THIS is what happened." Not that it really makes a difference since Star Wars is broken anyway, and it's been broken since The Phantom Menace came out.

But George Lucas wrote all six movies, (plus three more), as Star Wars. The Clone Wars isn't Star Wars because he didn't write them.

Even if he does not directly write the scripts, George Lucas is heavily involved with the production process, and entire episodes would not even exist if it wasn't for his influence and suggestions.
Maybe you missed the line at the end of every episode that says:
CREATED AND EXECUTIVE PRODUCED BY GEORGE LUCAS.
But George Lucas wrote all six movies
Incorrect. He wrote the prequels. Which is why they suck ass. The films of the original trilogy were largely a collaborative effort with numerous changes made to Lucas' original drafts, and input from other individuals (Especially Gary Kurtz, and Irvin Kershner, rest his soul). These changes were a direct cause of the success of the original films. When Lucas no longer had this influence, his quality started to slip (see: Return of the Jedi, largely regarded to be the worst of the original trilogy. That was all George.)

Apparently he's learned at least something from this because, much like the original trilogy, The Clone Wars is a another collaborative effort. Overall, it's better than the prequel films, but still flawed at its core since it has to fit within their brokenness.

but to appease the younger audience
Image
One of (quite a few) people being impaled through the back and slowly dying
Image
Geonosions being burned to death (complete with agonizing screaming!) by a flamethrower
Image
Four men being simultaneously decapitated. Men that earlier in the episode burned down a village and murdered its inhabitants. On screen.
Image
One of said village's inhabitants being stabbed to death in front of her father.
Yeah, that's totally for little kids.

...They are? I haven't met any kids that are any more 'violent' today then they were 10 or so years ago when there were equally, if not more violent things on TV and in videogames.

We are moving off topic... I said "so violent", not "more violent".

Not to be rude but A LOT of people, not just those in this forum, need to get over the "terrrrrrible" prequel trilogy..sure they werent as good as the OT and yea they cudve been a lot better but theyre not as terrible as everyone makes them out to be...they served as decent precursors to the original films and as long as u can swallow ur pride, accept some of the bad acting, and just focus on the story theyre trying to tell then im sure we can all enjoy the prequel trilogy for wut they were intended to be..

Now for the clone wars..

Ive said it once and i will say it 1000x...the clone wars is NOT Star Wars...in NO way, shape, or form...if u think the clone wars is Star Wars, then it is clear that u have absolutely NO IDEA wut Star Wars actually is lol.

My sincerest apologies to anyone who may hav bin offended over wut i said but i only speak the truth..clone wars is crap and a mockery and anyone who supports it can never be a true Star Wars fan in my opinion.

Please don't be 'that guy'...

It is officially licensed by LucasFilm. George Lucas created it, serves as the executive producer, and in many cases, a writer. It bears the golden STAR WARS logo. It is Star Wars, whether you like it or not. Just like the prequel films.

people hate the prequels because episode 1 was terrible and everyone says Jar Jar ruined it, but Jar Jar is suppose to be in the movie to serve the comedic version just like the OT C3P-0 was the comedic version in it why dont people understand that

Because Jar Jar wasn't funny. At all.

And no, Jar Jar is not the sole thing wrong with The Phantom Menace, and definitely is not the reason I dislike the rest of the prequel films.
