Possibly still in development...?

Well, I've put a few reasons together as to why I think BFIII is still in development.

1.) I can't remember where (possibly twitter), I read that Spark Unlimited approached lucas arts with the proposal of doing a Battlefront game, which they were then turned down. I find this strange as why would lucas arts turn down a game that is built for success, and when I highly doubt spark unlimited would require a stupidly high budget. They already had plans?

2.) Spark has worked with lucas arts (I think it was on the kinect game), and we all know how many star wars references they've been using in their tweets. This, accompanied with the first piece of 'evidence', spark may have been subtley trying to tell us to not lose hope because they know something we don't.

3.) Spark and Lucas went out together, as we all know.

4.) Their tweet 'Lucas arts silence may be a good thing' has got me thinking. With all the above evidence, it tells me that spark knows something, but clearly they aren't allowed to say anything.

Again, this could always be wishful thinking... I just don't understand why, in an industry that has games like CoD being so successful, they wouldn't develop a battlefront game? Now's a better time then ever. In saying that, Lucas Arts could be developing the game internally, which gives them full access and ability to branch upon free radicals version of battlefront. If a third-party company (I.e spark unlimited) was to take over, they legally couldn't use free radicals resources, have to start from scratch, whereas lucas arts can use FR's build of the game. I hope this is the case, because I'd take FR's design over anyone elses any day.

It was confirmed on Spark's twitter that he did not have dinner with anyone from LucasArts, or go to the Infusion Lounge after.

Thank you for the welcome and the warning! I'm about to make my first "mistake" right now. I found the tweet, but I don't know how to do the fancy shmancy embedding stuff so I'll just quote it: "@chuskens23 I did not have dinner with LA. I did not go with them to a party. That was all speculation on tidbits of information."

Thank you, and thank you. Lol.

So we're pretty much back to square one on the guessing game? Damn spark, it was fun while it lasted!

Haha, I've been following star wars battlefront III ever since I saw the leaked footage! Come to this site every few months, but moreso recently due to the buzz around spark unlimited. Shame they aren't working on it though, LP3 looks unbelievably gorgeous, and seems like it'll be a lot of fun. They certainly know what they're doing now that they have a studio backing them up.

Only today did I realise this site actually had a forum! Haha, so happy right now.

You don't know that. There's no need to hate Lost Planet 3 just because we're disapointed that it's not Battlefront.

Lost Planet 2 has a 63 on Metacritic on PC and a 68 on consoles. Spark's most recent games, Turning Point: Fall of Liberty and Legendary, both have Metacritic scores in the forties. It is therefore unlikely that Lost Planet 3 will get good reviews. Perhaps we should be glad they aren't making Battlefront 3.

Thats rather bleak. Spark unlimited never had a studio like Capcom backing them up before, and they've admited they've got a lot more of a tight team working with them on LP3. Before, it was pretty much a bunch of ametuer game makers, now they've got professionals. You can't base LP3 off of the previous 2 lost planets, as they were made by a total different development team, not to mention, it's got a different playstyle. To be honest, I think the new lost planet sounds great, and I wish it well.

Not to mention, the early reviews of the demo screening that journalists have seen have been extremely positive.

In saying that, I still find it EXTREMELY strange capcom have decided to continue a not so well recieved series. I wish spark were working on BF3, I'm sure given the budget and professional game makers, they would've done a wonderful job. They always just needed that extra help, because their concepts are usually pretty good.
