Purchasing a Graphics Tablet

Well I've been working on concepts for a game my friend and I are about to start working on and I've realized the need of a tablet. Now I've never used one before but know how they work. I've been looking at Wacom Intuos4 tablets and they seem what were looking for. I would really like a Cintiq but we can't afford to spend $2000. I also saw the Bambo line but they looked of cheap quality. I really don't know much about them though and am wandering if anyone here has one or can give purchasing advice. Any tips would be appreciated. :D

Wacom's are great names. I have a cheap 200$ Wacom 4x6 tablet and it's been great for me. I'm not a professional illustrator though so I'm not sure if that would be what you are looking for.

I like the intuos4 line. I'm going to look at some soon though as I can't really tell if the small is too small just from the pictures.

Get something thats durable. You don't want to drop it and then end your game

Well from what I've read Wacom holds 95% of the world wide tablet sales. Kind of a monopoly which sucks because there isn't really any competition.

Way to insult that piece of *blank*. I hate it so much. And ya it's not a graphics tablet but a tablet PC (so it's called).

I don't even know where to start about why I hate the iPad. It really disappointments me because it comes from one of my favourite companies.

It isn't on sale yet. You might try it for a few minutes and really like it.

It's a PC Tablet that has no flash, no camera, no fully integrated version of the MAC OS, and a bookreader that relies on you to pay for 3G or have Wi-Fi. I don't see my views being changed...

From my...cough...sources...they have proof that the next "edition" of the ipad will everything that it is missing now. If you look close at the one that Jobs had onstage at the revealing, it had a camera, and a guy who got his hands on one put an isight camera in it, and it fit perfectly in a hollow spot at the top.

They do this just so they can release a new one every 6 months...
