If you want people to read it you will need to give them a reason to. If it's useful information found nowhere else it could prove popular but in this case if it was very funny or interestingly unique you should get some common readers.

Well I can't really go out and find news so the first point is a-no go for me. I would provide links to other sites where more information can be found which is indirectly doing so - it's a stretch. Not sure what you mean about uniquely interesting but I can do my best to make it at least mildly humorous.
