I knew Game Informer was just trying to seem important...again.

To be honest I didn't think this was going to be BF3. If they do announce BF3 it will be at some sort of event to maximise publicity with LA directly involved. Announcing it through a magazine wouldn't make much sense to me.

Lucasarts needs to pull a rockstar and out of no were annouce battlefront 3 with a full on trailer

The problem is unlike rockstar i doubt Lucasarts has as many people frequenting their site. rockstar has Social Club that helps their site stay active

There was.
Actually, that's different. The Game Informer announcement XCOM: Enemy Unknown is a turn-based strategy game, just like the older ones were. The FPS is something entirely different. So, for people who were massively upset by the FPS, this IS pretty huge.
