I feel this burn but I also feel that Lucas Arts must make a third title eventually and am curious to see what Spark is developing.

Here's something that might keep everyone's hopes up: http://igxpro.net/2010/11/23/star-wars- ... ing-again/

Particularly these lines:
According to the battlefront official website, it has recently been acquired for another year of functionality. I’m no scientist, but generally companies acquire websites for a reason.

...

This game is definitely something that is not done, if Duke Nukem can make a comeback from the grave, there is no way that I am declaring Battlefront 3 dead.
Don't lose hope :)-

Nope, I think I'm done. After three years of "maybe" and "possibly", I'm finished. It's not that I'm losing hope, I'm just tired of getting disappointed by something that Lucasarts is apparently not capable of doing. You can keep hoping, but I'm just gonna finally move on.

You're welcome to return when BFIII is announced :D

Surely LucasArts could have just shown a cinematic trailer knowing the game wouldn't arrive for another year perhaps. It didn't have to reveal any actual gameplay, just beautiful pre-rendered Star Wars action.

But alas, they're probably hard at work on making another terrible TFU game.

Do you think TFU will get a third installment? I'm not sure how the second one ended (if someone does please tell -- spoiler markings where they deserve to be placed) but it could be over. If it is over, then what other Star Wars game are they going to make? Unless they go way back and make another Bounty Hunter game or something on those lines, a BFIII might be a viable choice.

Thanks, Scott. Lol, I guess that was a little harsh, but I am a little tired of Lucasarts not even acknowledging the game. I wish they would release something, like drunkenhutt said. On a side note, I definitely saw that there was supposed to be Gears of War III footage (I even saw a teaser on the website). Where the hell did it go??

Yeah, the consistent let-downs have become tiresome. I'm not going to get my hopes up again. If it happens, it happens, if not, we're stuck waiting for the third installment of TFU (which has been confirmed, from what I understand).

The hypothetical games I pray for are BFIII, Republic Commando II (Imperial Commando), Republic at War, new Jedi Knight series installment, and even a new TIE Fighter series. I'm pretty sure none of my dreams will come true, so I'll be content with knowing that there's no hope.

**TFU2 ENDING SPOILER BELOW - BEWARE PEOPLE!**

@ Scott
TFU2 ended with the cloned Starkiller and the Rebellion capturing Darth Vader on Kamino....yes that is correct, no typo. They imprison him in the Rogue Shadow (Starkiller and Juno's personal ship) and head off to Dantooine to regroup with the rest of the Rebellion forces. Just as the final cut-scene dissipates, we see Boba Fett in his Slave 1take off into hyperspace to Dantooine, following the Rogue Shadow's coordinates.

Therefore, LucasArts has purposely created a cliffhanger and a third TFU will be needed to finish the story of how Starkiller eventually dies (he has to, because why else isn't he mentioned in future Star Wars material) and how Darth Vader escapes Rebellion captivity on Dantooine.

Here's the ending on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NMaBaB3wOsQ

Aforementioned, LucasArts are indeed considering the development of TFU3, but are just figuring out how it's going to fit within the cannon, http://www.computerandvideogames.com/ar ... ?id=268500

I really don't want a TFU3 (a novel or comic series could explain the story instead), so I hope LucasArts spend their resources and money on making a great, enjoyable Battlefront 3.

No problem :) I've been shattered before too but I can't see any way BFIII will never be released so I'm still hopeful.

Gears III was pulled at the last minute. I'm not sure why but there's articles on the internet so they might help.

Thanks drunkenhutt. That makes me scared though as it seems that there is no way they will avoid making a sequel to suck more money out of everyone. Then again, Republic Commando ended with a huge cliffhanger and no sequel came out of that. I hope there's no sequel.

Well, I for one hate cliffhangers and I believe there should be an Imperial Commando video game (an RC follow up) where Delta Squad undergoes missions for the Empire but some time down the track your squad decides to defect and search for Sev within the galaxy. Now that would be a great story, without hampering the quality and creating a cash-in sequel in the process (like with TFU2).

It's a real shame Karen Traviss isn't allowed to discuss Sev's fate in her RC/IC books due to the fact that LucasArts contains the rights to the character :(

When you think about it, why would LucasArts keep the rights to Sev if they didn't want to make a new game that would feature him?

Anyway I think he's gonna be in the Season 3 of the Clone Wars, along with Delta Squad :)
