Confirmation that it is not Halo and it is a multi-platform game.
They also say to look at the Background
"However, it's not the game OXM is teasing. Look at the blue squiggly background. What on Earth could it be?"
apparently its a hint, now that narrows it down to a game from the Sci Fi genre albeit the image has a certain familiarity to it.
Does it look like the layout of a spaceship based map? Or is that just me?

It's definitely a blueprint of some sort. That doesn't really narrow it down though.

OXM says they guessed correctly and hinted it wasn't an exclusive. Problem is they have like 20 games on that list including battlefront. I like the chances though. But I would probably guess counter strike. And I think OXM just said it's defiantly not halo.

I highly doubt they want people to stop talking about and buying their magazine. I believe the delay. Still too bad though....

Perhaps the 'WILL' in the tagline is referring to the persuasive powers of a Jedi Mind Trick?

Well thats actually a pretty good way to look at it. I remember a long time ago another magazine did a hint like that saying something like "Your life is a bout to be cut in half" for HL2.

Huh, I would've expected a tagline more like this: Prepare to be really excited, than really disappointed. Or was that how the ads went?

That totally blows... I was lookin' forward to it.
Maybe Spark Unlimited was too busy reading spartan's emails about their site not being up to date so they didn't have enough time to get the stuff ready.....

Well that 'hinted' background, I initially thought was a layout of a map of some kind, 'design planny' type thing, it reminded quite fully of the Star Wars Battlefront I ingame map, just an idea, so just thought I would throw it in, as there has not been much speculation or guessing to what it is, but I would defitnally point to a SCI-FI orrientation.
Just an example of the ingame Star Wars Battlefront I map, which I thought it resembled. Although being what it is, could just apply to Rainbow Six just as well, being the 'hint' map is a lot more detailed.
The publisher has informed us that the studio won't have the game ready for us to see in time, so we won't have any details in the issue and we've had to change our cover plans. We wanted to say so publically because there's been a bit of speculation already and we didn't want people to be disappointed.
We do try to avoid these situations, and normally publishers are very reliable in delivering information on time, but in this instance things changed very late in the day and we've had to roll with it.
Also as a side-note, that does sound very familiar, 'delays'.

I knew it looked familiar! Nice job, also the background looks nothing like any Rainbow map i've ever seen and theres already been 2 Rainbow games on the 360.

I actually thought that and busted out the TGAS to check. It was the first thing i did but none of them matched up. I think if the backgorund was a tease it would have mroe details on it rather than a blueprint that looks similar to a motherboard

Well tbh it wouldn't match would it, it would be a new map.
Those bits on the side that look like windows may be symbols for shield doors or something?

Damn, I would have really liked to know what game (whether it be BF3 or otherwise) that they were going to reveal...
