Insulting people is a logical fallacy. =(

It is officially licensed by LucasFilm. George Lucas created it, serves as the executive producer, and in many cases, a writer. It bears the golden STAR WARS logo. It is Star Wars, whether you like it or not. Just like the prequel films.
Star Wars is an idea, a set of ideals, not just a brand-logo you can slap on every infant's toy that comes along. Lucas Films may have labeled it with "STAR WARS", but that doesn't make it Star Wars. If it defies the spirit of Star Wars, that is in every true fan, it isn't Star Wars.
DISCLAIMER: There is no literal spirit of star wars.

people hate the prequels because episode 1 was terrible and everyone says Jar Jar ruined it, but Jar Jar is suppose to be in the movie to serve the comedic version just like the OT C3P-0 was the comedic version in it why dont people understand that
Speak for yourself, and the other people who think like you on this subject. How can you claim that "people hae the prequels" and "everyone says Jar Jar ruined it" , without basis? Prove that episode 1 was terrible, and I might believe you. I'd personally like to see you try, because there is no generally accepted "terribleness" measure, that I know of.

Because Jar Jar wasn't funny. At all.
I think he is. =P

And no, Jar Jar is not the sole thing wrong with The Phantom Menace, and definitely is not the reason I dislike the rest of the prequel films.
I think were getting a little off topic here. =(

In the interest of not further dereailing the thread, I'll be brief and say that you can find out nearly everything wrong with the prequel films in
this thread.
Insulting people is a logical fallacy. =(
I didn't insult him. I asked him to stop pursuing the thought that people are somehow not 'real' fans of something because they choose to enjoy/dislike a particular aspects of it.

Correct; Star Wars is an idea. Which is why I do not understand how something is 'wrong.'
In my mind, the prequel films are pretty terrible, and don't live up to the quality of the original trilogy. I still call them Star Wars. The Clone Wars, while it's a decent show on it's own, has to work within the mess that is the prequel films, and suffers as a result. I still call it Star Wars. That comic book I mentioned in the other thread. The one where the Emperor survives the battle of Endor and turns Luke to the dark side. That's just severely stupid in pretty much every way. I still call it Star Wars.
But, I would never think less of anybody, or even more insultingly, claim that they are not enjoying it the
'right' way because they like/dislike a particular aspect of something. That's far more insulting than anything I've said.

As I just said in the Darth Maul... Alive? thread, everyone has thier own opinion.

It would only be a logical fallacy if the insult made no sense. I could say, "you're stupid," and if your intelligence is below average, than frankly, I'd be right. Ad hominems are only logical fallacies if the insult is logically flawed.
Example:
I don't trust you, you're an atheist.
This is obviously prejudice and also logically flawed. A person's religious standpoint doesn't directly make them more or less trustworthy.

According to Rotten Tomatoes,
The Clone Wars is worse than
the holiday special.

The film? Yeah, it's pretty crappy. Mainly because it was the first 3 or so episodes of the TV series sloppily chopped together.
The show itself has a mix of extremely good episodes ("Rookies," "Landing at Point Rain", the Umbara arc, etc) and extremely stupid ones ("Mercy Mission, Nomad Droids)
It's a mixed bag, and I can see why a lot of people don't like it. But it definitely isn't Holiday Special levels of stupid. Mostly.

I voted for the top yes. I don't even really understand the topic question though. Is it asking if the show is canon? Because it is, Lucas is heavily involved in the show and he has said himself (can't remember where I read it) that Clone Wars is probably the most canon thing outside of the films up to this point. Sure it's messed with the continuity from so many things that came before it (just read any of the books that take place during the clone wars) but in the end you just have to accept that there's going to be errors like this in a universe so big in terms of multi-media. It's impossible to make everything in a franchise like Star Wars match up.
If the question is asking whether or not it's up to par with the Star Wars movies (yes, including the prequels, there's no need to get into a debate on whether they're good or not when the topic is about Clone Wars) then I'd say yes, and it's getting increasingly better as the show goes on. At first the show was obviously directed at kids, but season 3 and especially season 4 weren't really. And even if they were, it's still Star Wars. It has Star Wars in the title, it tells stories of characters that Lucas created and who still takes part in writing them, and it directly correlates (at least it will eventually according to Filoni) to the things that happen in Episode 3, which I'm really looking forward to, such as how the clone troopes like Rex or Bly react to Order 66 when it happens. The show is Star Wars, there's no doubt about it and anybody who says it's not is kidding themselves.

I say it is, but not as favored as the original movies. I still kinda like it though.
