I think the engine for the game itself should change. Not that it wasn't great before, but I think it can be a bit more tactical like Republic Commando, or a different game series like Operation Flashpoint, or ArmA. There could be four different campaign's, one for each faction. Each faction could have an infantry campaign and a space battle campaign. Infantry campaigns could utilize orbital strikes, air strikes, and fire team commands. I like the idea for weapon upgrades. One of the things that frustrated me about BF II is that each class had a default set of weapons. I would want to have the option to have any set of weapons to any class. Example, an Imperial Officer could carry a regular blaster and a pistol, instead of being restricted to a launcher and a crumby electro-pistol.
