I think that its pretty good for being made 4 years ago and basically only being in an alpha form. The transition from space to the planet is done pretty smoothly and the fact that you can see ships in orbit as well makes it feel very real. The gameplay looks basically finished but of course graphics is usually the last thing put into a game when the mechanics are finished.

This game to me makes me think that fighter to fighter battles will be more important than it was in SWBF2 where in space battles you usually only focus on the opposing battle ship. Stopping those bombers as well as the ground force makes it a much more team oriented game in my opinion.

Of course making it so it balances out and gives off a good feel is the most important thing without blowing everything out of proportion and making some things useless. I think balancing this game so everything works together evenly will be the most problematic part of BF3.

I have confirmed with an ex-FreeRad developer that it is in fact real. He wasn't at liberty to 100% acknowledge that it was FreeRadical work, but it was heavily implied(99%) due to what I presume are inferred legal reasons. He acknowledged that it was indeed an early build and that the BF3 project they were working on was near completion and looked "way better than those shots".

Thanks RogueStarKiller for checking with a exFR developer! This makes me really sad that they cancelled this project... I hope that spark is doing something pretty similar to what I saw from the video.
