You can/will be able to buy higher spec notebooks for less.
They have just slapped the apple logo and a touch screen on it which will sell practically anything these days.

sorry, now I read that it sounds very vague, what genre of game are you guys thinking of making? Have you thought of a background story yet?

You betcha.
It's a side scrolling action/platforming/puzzle game that is inspired by Uncharted and Indiana Jones. It's more puzzle/platforming with action for some extra story.

Well I've borrowed the schools Bamboo tablet and for a cheap one it works very nicely
I might just continue to borrow it or buy a Bamboo tablet as they are surprisingly nice for the cheap price. Wacom can't use that slogan, I've trademarked it
