Maybe go inside the blockade runners in space battles?

The Same way you go into the capital ships in BF2. Just smaller.

Blockade runners are maybe three starfighters wide at best, though. That doesn't make sense.

It would be cool though and make a lot easier to end space battles.

How did they do it in the movies/books?

The same way they did in A New Hope.

Reel it in with a tractor beam and connect the boarding ramp.

Why not just do it like that then?

That would be cool.

That could add another layer of strategy. You wouldn't want to completely destroy their capitol ship while your frigate is still attached, so you'd need to send a team to disable the tractor beam, and disconnect the ship.

But this is all wishful thinking, and probably wont even be possible until the PlayStation 9 or something comes around.

You could go in it and destroy the core.

There's actual boarding docks on the underside of the craft on the corvette. I think there's two. (remember how Obi-wan docked the Soulless One on the Tantive IV in episode 3? )

The only reason why they used the tractor beam on the Tantive IV, was because they wanted the "passengers... alive". In any of the space battles they never used a tractor beam.

Right, but we're talking gameplay here. Pulling the ships in would be the only way I could see this being done if these support frigates are to be boarded at all.

There's got to be a better way than trying to add all of that as a mechanic. To me, it seems like a waste of good development time.

I have an idea on how to get onto the ship, but getting of the ship is another matter. Anyway, attackers can get on a ship via a vessel like this:

Thats how the CIS could get onboard vessels with no docks. This is what the empire and rebels used:

I am not sure what the republic used though.
